I survived my day of babysitting! I was surprised by how smoothly the day actually went! It started at 6:15 for me. I woke up early to exercise and shower before Lily and Noah were dropped off. I even had time to eat my breakfast (oatmeal & turkey bacon) while catching up on some news. My boys slept until 8:00. After they were up, dressed and fed Jeanie dropped her kids off. The first 30 minutes were rough. Lily & Noah went through all the toys in the play room and left them sitting randomly throughout the basement. Noah kept playing with Oliver's favorite toys (trains, trucks) so Oliver would get mad and take them from him. I was seriously worried about the rest of the day. However, a miracle happened and both boys started getting along rather quickly. I guess Oliver just needed to adjust to having friends over to play with him and his toys. Lily gave a motherly talk to Noah about sharing his toys and from then on the day went without a hitch. They played really well together, ate the same food, and ran around the house chasing each other. They loved Oliver's tent in his room and played in that for a long time. The day went by quickly and then Jeanie came to pick them up!
As soon as they left I drove down the street to pick up a girl for basketball practice. I had arranged for another leader to go to the church today, but couldn't find a ride for Melissa. So, on the way home I rolled my window down to talk to Jeanie as she passed me on Serpentine. I heard a clunk and a thud as the window fell. It got off its track or something and is now stuck in the door. It was a short, but chilly drive home. As soon as John came home I made him take it in to get it fixed. I hope it doesn't take long or cost much!
Tonight I have mutual at the church while the rest of the ward is attending pack meeting at the church. They are doing a cake auction so John will take the boys to that. As soon as I come home John will head back to the church for a night of basketball practice!
Tomorrow I am babysitting again. I am praying that it goes as smoothly as today. Four kids kept me busy on a fairly easy day so I'd hate to see what 4 kids is like on a hard day!
