New Year's Eve: My mom always hosts a party so I picked John up from work on Monday and then drove up to Mantua. We had a blast at our small little party (family and a couple of my brothers' friends). We played Rock Band a lot and rocked down the house. We also played some board games & the Fifield's Wii! We ate tons of food and still had plenty left over for the next day. The kids watched a movie with Papa in his bedroom while the rest of us enjoyed our freetime to play! A few of us played Boggle against John and never even got close to him in points. One round he ended with 20 points and the rest of us (4 others) got 7 or 8 points each. Pathetic! Or Amazing on John's part! The night went by quickly and at 11:58 we had to quickly get out our poppers to bring in the new year! The party continued until 2:00 in the morning! The Hansens sure can party! I slept downstairs with the boys, but didn't sleep because I shared the bed with a wild sleeper (Oliver). I'll have to make different arrangements for him next time because he was all over the place, bumping in to me, playing with my hair (never done that before), kicking me, hitting me, etc. Not peaceful, to say the least. I came upstairs with Lincoln at 7:00 when he woke up, but had nowhere to go with him. My parents and Randy were still sleeping their rooms, John, Parker, & Karlee were in the family room/kitchen area so I was left with the bathroom. Lincoln sat on the floor playing with some random hair items while I took my time painting my toe nails & fingernails. They haven't been painted in over a year, so it is an adjustment now. After 35 minutes of playing in the bathroom I decided to go in the kitchen and if I woke anybody up, too bad. Karlee woke up but John and Parker stayed asleep until 11:00, even with the rest of us roaming around. I learned, later, why they slept so long. They stayed up until 6:00 playing a game on the Xbox. John set a bad example for and 8 year old.
Tuesday we stayed and played some more and ate a lot until about 6:00 when we decided it was time to go. We drove home and crashed when we got here. We were all tired and slept great all night long.
Today we remembered that we had left John's car at his office on Monday so he took my car and left me home, which is great because I've gotten a lot of cleaning and laundry finished and haven't done any spending!
I have an appointment with the bishop tonight! What new calling will they give me? (Anything would be better than scouts!)
