We had a great weekend! I had been looking forward to Saturday all week. We didn't have anything planned, and that's just what I wanted. I wanted to spend some time together as a family doing whatever we felt like. Too bad it didn't turn out quite like that.
Friday night I got a call from the YW pres saying that we were supposed to clean the church saturday morning. Bummer. So, I went to the church at 8:30. There were 3 other leaders and 1 guy from ym. We cleaned until 10:00 and then called it good! I came home in time for John to go to a ward member's house to help him load his truck for moving. John was gone for 2 hours before returning home. I was happy he was home at noon. Too bad he only stopped by to pick up his wallet. I guess the family was very unprepared with their move and had hardly anything packed. Plus, they had the world's smallest little trailer for loading. John ended up paying for a rental truck so that he didn't have to spend the entire day moving the family. Two hours later (2:30) he returned home exhausted and sweaty. He had worked hard (along with Mark and a few other elders from the ward). I don't really remember how we spent the rest of the day, I just remember being disapointed that things kept coming up. Chitzen Itza. It's a good thing we had Monday to replace our busy Saturday!
Sunday morning John let me sleep in until 8:00. With 9:00 church it wasn't a good day to sleep in. After I woke up I had to rush to get the boys ready, myself ready, get dinner in the crockpot, and pack the diaper bag. John helped throughout the morning so we made it to church on time. I have very exciting news to report about church. I took Oliver to the nursery (lately John has been doing it) and he immediately got clingy. I sat on a chair, disapointed and then the husband of one of the nursery leaders saw Oliver's clinginess and started to play with Oliver. He played monster trucks with him which allowed me an opportunity to leave. I wondered how long it would last and was surprised and pleased that he stayed clear until the 5-minute bell rang at the end of church! What a good boy! I made it a point to thank Billy Stone for playing with Ollie and he offered to do it everyday until Oliver felt more comfortable! Ya!
After church I had BYC. I learned that that stands for Bishop Youth Council. We had fun talking and planning and I learned some interesting things about a couple of my girls. The meeting was long and I was starving because my morning was too rushed for breakfast. As soon as I came home I grabbed a bite to eat, my crockpot dinner and then we drove up to my folk's house. We just went up for fun, nothing planned except for my meal. We had fun playing and talking and eating. Rock Band is always a hit. Oliver and Cooper and Karlee spent time running around in dance costumes and wearing necklaces. Lincoln had an accident. I sat him on the couch so I could find something in the diaper bag. Before I knew it he had fallen off of the couch, face first and landed on a pile of big Legos. His face his one Lego hard and has left it's mark (or should I say marks?) He has a bruise, several little cuts, and a swollen line where I imagine he scraped along the lego. Poor kiddo! I felt terrible and was harassed several times before the night was over for neglecting my child (mostly from John).
Monday was a great day. It was exactly what I wanted Saturday to be. We spent some great time together as a family, playing in the play room, running around etc. We didn't go out in the snow as a family because I didn't want to be cold and wet or have cold, wet clothes everywhere. John managed to shovel the driveway with a lot of help from his dad and Mark. Later in the day we went to dinner (ate salads) and did some grocery shopping at Costco and Macey's. Macey's was expensive, but their produce sure is great! I probably won't do much shopping there again because it was just too expensive. We got home late and tried to watch a movie after putting the boys to bed, but I fell asleep.
Today is Tuesday and it has been as normal as possible, except that I have gotten the date wrong twice and have thought of it as Monday most of the day. I used my new (now broken) mop to mop the bathrooms and kitchen. I folded some laundry. I exercised. I read some stories to the boys and played a lot of trucks and trains. I just finished cooking dinner (fajitas) and then need to make 20 phone calls to the girls in our YW about basketball tomorrow!
Tomorrow I am babysitting Jeanies 2 oldest kids for the day (and again on Thursday). Wish me luck!
