John didn't work on Thursday (I'm not sure why.) so we had a great day together. We did a little shopping at the mall. I needed to return 2 things and ended up buying 3 more things for the same price! Oliver and Lincoln played in Dino Towne and John splurged and bought a strawberry banana smoothie. Later that night Mark and Heidi and Andrea Adams came over to babysit the boys. John took me to see 'Vantage Point' at Jordan Commons! It was a tense show and we both really liked it! While we were away M&H and the Adams enjoyed some episodes of Heroes in our basement!
Friday: I'm still loving this beautiful weather! It's been so sunny and warm and it just makes me happy. Today I met up with some friends at the zoo. I had my 2 boys and then Chantel had her 2 kiddos and Becca had her 2 boys. We had a great time. The animals were all so active. It was amazing. We saw the elephants during their lunchtime and Oliver was so excited to see them moving around and eating. Some of our other favorites were the zebras, giraffes, monkeys and the tiger. The zebras are always standing around when I see them, but today they were running, bucking, playing with each other, etc. So fun to see. The giraffes were more active than normal too and were running around playing. We even saw one giraffe bend his neck to the side like in one of Oliver's favorite books. My favorite animal today was definitely the tiger. I think it was Oliver's favorite too. The tiger was up front by the window pacing around. Occasionally he would stop to stare at us and then he'd run around then continue his pacing. He was just inches from our faces and it was really amazing! I do love the zoo! I'm not sure if Lincoln even noticed the animals, but he loved watching the kids run around. We ended our 3 hour zoo experience with a ride on the train! Oliver yelled "All aboard!" several times and got excited when we passed the buffaloes and he commented, "Buffalo shrug shoulders". (from a book). Becca and Chantel were laughing at Oliver's comments the whole time.
The rest of the day has been sleeping, cleaning, playing in the backyard, weeding the front flower beds and eating dinner. Tonight was leftover night so Ollie and I had tacos, Linc ate green beans and John had chili. Yummy!
Now the boys are in bed (Oliver asked to sleep on his floor so I though we'd try it out, so far I haven't heard a peep). John is setting up the TV for our night of Heroes. We've been renting the first season and loving them! Mark & Heidi are watching them too! The four of us are catching up on the TV shows we have heard are great (Heroes, Prison Break...)
